Ok, I'm going way overboard here.  LOL!  I have way too many categories and forums.  I'll have to get it all out then combine a bunch of it later.  This is just a little too much... but I'm having fun so... phhtt!  :)

I'm still working on it, but the infant stage of the new message board is here:  http://mmcc.macabremanor.com/index.php

I'll be adding, moving, and renaming forums and categories and the look will change off and on for awhile, but it's fully functional right now.  For those of you interested... sign up whenever you're ready.  :)

Since one of the systems at work was "broke" tonight and has been for the past 3 nights... I wound up with plenty of time to work on this.  The bad part is... I've had to burn 12 hours of annual leave (basically vacation time) in the last 2 days because they were only going to give me 2 hours a night if I didn't.  Hopefully the system will be fixed tomorrow and we'll be busy enough that we can stay all night.  I don't think I've stayed a full night in months.

Welp, the nuke site was hacked again and I'm deleting it as I type.  I apologize to those that frequented the site.  It's my own fault for continuing to use nuke.

I'll be setting up a message board in the near future will be linked to on the main site http://www.macabremanor.com  At the moment, the links are still for the nuke site and it will take me some time to fix everything and set up the new message board.  I'll understand if people are tired of all the problems and the moving.

Again, I apologize with all my heart.

Ever since I found out they existed, I've loved Ren Faires.  I love the sights, the smells, and most of all... the sounds.

We used to have a faire here in town that was held at a local college and that's where I was first introduced to my love of the faire.  I walked around, sometimes skipping, from shop to shop with almost a girlish glee.  I watched the fighters in awe, wished to win the lottery so I could buy at least one thing from each shop, and danced to the players... the bards.  That's where I first heard The Jolly Rogers and first heard about Claddagh Ring.

Then I went to the KC faire and nothing I'd seen thus far compared.  The place was huge, the vendors vast, and the entertainment... amazing.

Several years later, I started playing a game called EverQuest and found a link on an EQ site that sent me to mp3.com to listen to an amusing song someone had done about EQ.  I listened to it, then started wandering around the site for some reason and ran across The Brobdingnagian Bards.  I listened to several of the songs on mp3.com, then found myself going back there over and over to listen and check for new tunes.  I bought some CD's, too... but I listened to them and carted them around with me so much that they became too scratched to listen to.  :(

Several months ago... around Thanksgiving I think, my husband bought me an iPod.  I really needed something at work to stave off the boredom and carrying around a CD player and tons of CD's was rather annoying... as was the constant dead batteries.  So, I really, really wanted one and my husband was insanely sweet and bought me one.

I got all my music on the iPod, including The Jolly Rogers, Claddagh Ring, and The Brobdingnagian Bards.  While I was playing around in the iTunes software one day, I clicked on PodCasts and found myself in a totally different world... a world where anything and everything I was interested in was there in some form or another.  I subscribed to several history casts, news casts, comedy casts, then on a whim I decided to search for Celtic.  I found many podcasts that interested me right away, but only subscribed to two of them to see if I liked them before trying out others.  The two I subscribed to were the Renaissance Festival Podcast and the Irish and Celtic Music Podcast.

A couple of days later while at work, I decided I was in the mood for Celtic music and loaded up the Irish and Celtic Music Podcast.  I listened to the host, who introduced himself as marcgunn.  I knew I'd heard that name before, but I couldn't place it.  It started bugging me, but not able to look him up at the time because I was at work, I kept listening.  He was funny, easy to listen to, and I found myself really liking his style.  Later in the podcast, marcgunn made mention to The Brobdingnagian Bards and I finally put two and two together.  I had stumbled across him again!  I was elated because I loved listening to him and he made such a good host!

Later that night, I decided to try out the Renaissance Festival Podcast and to my surprise, was greeted again to the voice of marcgunn.  I started giggling quietly, but still received a strange look from the person next to me.  I just smiled and kept listening.  I found it very odd that both of the podcasts I'd subscribed to wound up being marcgunn's and it was much to my fortune.

I found myself doing nothing but catching up on back podcasts at work (while working, I swear!) and found out by listening that marcgunn had two more podcasts as well; A Brobdingagian Minute and a Pub Songs Podcast.  I signed up for both of them as well as soon as I got home.  Since then, I've caught up on all the back podcasts and found myself listening to them over again.  Not only do I get to listen to Ren Faire and Celtic music at work, but I'm entertained by Marc and his other hosts as well... including Andrew from The Brobdingnagian Bards.

I found out through these podcasts that The Jolly Rogers have a new album out that I didn't know about and I've been introduced to tons of bands and music makers that I didn't know about at all.  I've experienced hours of entertainment and a decided lessening of boredom at work.  The only thing that would make the experience more perfect, would be hearing Claddagh Ring as well.  :)  I don't know if they are actually playing any more or not though.  Last I knew, they were missing a few people.  You can go to their site and listen to clips of their music though so you can possibly hear why I like them so much.  :)

So, if you like Ren Faire and/or Celtic Music... I highly recommend these podcasts and bands!

I'm usually asleep at this time, so I hope this all made sense.

March 17th, St Paddy's Day, was also marcgunn's birthday.  Very fitting if I do say so myself.  So if you get the time to read this you busy, busy man you... Happy Birthday, Marc!  You've got yet another huge fan and dedicated listener here!  :)

The 17th was also my grandpa's birthday, so the day has always held special meaning for me.  I think I'll find it difficult to forget Marc's birthday now.  :)

Get your own spectral analysis from Area 23®

A spectral analysis is simply a small color graph calculated from a complex set of equations based on various aspects of your personality, yielding an abstract visual description of you. This spectral meld software allows you to see this image, as well as determine the influence of other people's personalities on your own by melding their images with yours.

Ok, it wasn't quite so funny this time. I went upstairs to get me something to eat and on the way back down, I fell down the stairs again. This time, the stairs from the landing to the basement. I guess I wanted both sets of stairs to feel equal or something. I dumped almost a whole can of pop on the stairs and at the base of the stairs. My back, butt, and tailbone are KILLING me.

I woke up poor Shroud who came running out of the bedroom in a panic. He cleaned up my mess while I took off my pop drenched clothes and he threw away those slippers for me. So, I'm gonna be looking for slippers with some traction or something while we're at the store today shopping for the kiddo's birthday.

So this time... the stairs in the pic are the stairs I fell down.

I was waiting for it to happen and it finally did... I fell/slid down the stairs. My pop wound up all over the wall and the carpet on the stairs, I think I bruised my tailbone, I have a nice red mark on my back from carpet burn, my back is killing me, and somehow... I hurt my wrist. Ouchy. I slipped on one of the first steps and slid the rest of the way down.

The best thing is, I couldn't quit laughing. So here I am in the house with no one but the cats, laughing my ass off because I fell down the stairs. Have I lost it yet? :)

My icon/avatar is the stairs leading from the landing to the basement and I fell down the stairs from upstairs to the landing, but they look just like these. :)

I just noticed that my neck hurts, too. LOL!

I got off work an hour and ten minutes early tonight. This is really crazy... every night I've been there thus far, there hasn't been enough work the majority of the time I was there. Hopefully that will change soon. Half of us are falling asleep at the keys.

Shroud read my entry about the little notes and wrote me another note that night referencing the post. :) He's so sweet. :) I expected to get in trouble for posting about potato brain though, but he took it pretty well. :)

Wow... I had something I wanted to actually post about, but whatever it was is just... gone... poof... the train didn't derail, it hit a brick wall. Oh well, maybe I'll remember later...
